The PythonCard application framework has been used to create a prototype of the Field Marshal Graphical User Interface (GUI).

A story board of the finished GUI was also created to illustrate content being displayed

The selection of the PythonCard tool for Field Marshal was influenced by PythonCard's use of the wxPython  GUI toolkit. The crossplatform requirements for an application like Field Marshal is a difficult goal to meet. and wxPython has proven to have one of the best implementations of native look and feel available. A look at the GUI capabilities being developed for the SciPy project will illustrate this capability. The Envisage framework is using the wxPython based GUI toolkit. The following screenshots from the Envisage extensions to SciPy have been  provided by Enthought. The Envisage software is the core of a commercialization of open source SciPy framework that has been done by Envisage. The company plans to eventually release parts of Envisage as open source software in the SciPy.
